Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A search tool may ask you to enter a name, date of birth, or other query. That information is sent directly to the outside provider operating the tool so it can process the request and display its response. Clay County Warrant Records does not keep or record the search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, the message is retained for the purpose of responding. It is not shared outside our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive limited technical information as pages are requested. That information can include:
- The date and time of each page request
- Your device type and operating system
- The referring website, when one is available
- The pages viewed and the time spent on them
- Your browser name and version
- The internet protocol address assigned to the device
Cookies and Analytics
Small files called cookies may be stored on your device. They help show, in aggregate, how visitors move through the website, which pages receive more traffic, and where visits end. Analytics providers assist with this measurement. You may block cookies through your browser, although doing so can change how some website features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnose errors and other technical problems
- Route a search request to the relevant partner service
- Maintain site availability, speed, and operation
- Measure which content visitors use and where it can be improved
- Display advertising that may be based on visitor interests
No Warrant Data on File
Clay County Warrant Records does not sell, host, maintain, or compile a database of warrants or personal warrant-record details. It provides general directions to the Clay County Circuit Clerk, Clay County Sheriff's Department, Clay County Circuit and District Courts, and the separate Ashland and Lineville municipal-court channels. Alabama has no public statewide active-warrant portal identified in the official Clay research. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or profiles about third parties.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies supply the search boxes that may appear on the website. Information submitted to one of those tools is governed by that company's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices. Review the provider's terms before sending a query, because we do not control how it processes the information.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Clay County Circuit Clerk, the Clay County Sheriff's Department, Ashland or Lineville court services, Alabama court systems, legal-aid resources, or outside search tools. Once you follow an external link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Read that policy before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may also use their own systems to follow activity across websites for interest-based advertising. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be disclosed to:
- Analytics providers that measure use and technical performance
- Government or law-enforcement bodies responding to a valid legal order
- Advertising networks that place ads on the website
- Search partners that process a query you choose to submit
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used security practices are applied to the information we collect. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure, however. We work to protect visitor information but cannot promise that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor provided such information, we will delete it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Rights concerning data can vary by where you live. Alabama's public-writings right under Code of Alabama Section 36-12-40, with procedures under Sections 36-12-44 and 36-12-45, governs qualifying records held by Alabama public custodians. It does not turn this private website's visitor data into a Clay County government record. With respect to information we hold about you, you may at least:
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Ask to receive a copy of the information held about you
- Opt out of certain forms of processing
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised over time. A revision will be posted here and will carry a new effective date so visitors can identify the current version.
Effective date: September 9, 2026
